‘I picked this up at a friends house and read the first 3 chapters. I could hardly put it down. Jackman is very good at commenting and expository teaching. I have listened to audio lectures and sermons of his so I know of his work. He and Dick Lucas are two of the best teachers to ever grace this earth, and anything these two men set out to do comes out excellent… As far as this book, I feel like I have already learned new things about the Book of Judges, yet I have been studying this book for over a decade as I find it fascinating. Jackman actually manages to teach me new things that I had never thought of. Like I said, I have only read the first 3 chapters, but I just purchased my own copy as I know i will not be satisfied until I have devoured it in it's entirety. Also, this series, the Preachers Commentary, is great all around. James Philip on Numbers is another one that I would call 'Must Read'. These guys don't just gloss over things in this series, they give real anwers to the questions that pop up as you read the corrresponding bible book they are commenting on. Sinclair Ferguson on Daniel is another great book in this series.’ Gedjalek
