Remember Jesus Christ

The command of Paul to Timothy to “remember Jesus Christ,” therefore, reaches deep into the biblical text as a prompt to take to heart the covenantal faithfulness of God. “Remember” means to be in active reflection on the saving mercy contained in the eternal covenant and the consequent redemptive action of God in Jesus Christ.

Thomas J Nettles is a graduate of Mississippi College (BA) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv and PhD). He is widely regarded as one of the foremost Baptist historical theologians in America. Dr Nettles has served on staff at four churches starting in 1965 and has taught at several seminaries since Jan. 1976. He has most recently served as the Professor of Historical Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Along with numerous journal and scholarly papers, Dr Nettles is the author or editor of fifteen books.
