Why Should I Join a Church?
Many Christians dismiss the need to go to church. It’s just a building, they say. I can worship anywhere. I don’t have to gather with other Christians. In this booklet, Dr. R.C. Sproul explains that the church is not merely a building—it is the people who meet there. Scripture even commands us to gather, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some (Heb. 10:25). It’s dangerous to attempt the Christian life alone. We need one another to live and worship well. The Crucial Questions booklet series by Dr. R.C. Sproul offers succinct answers to important questions often asked by Christians and thoughtful inquirers.

‘This crucial questions book is so relevant for our day.In the individualistic society,in which we live, many insist that they worship God privately and don't need to be part of a Church to worship the Lord. Sproul commenting on those who think this way "...its possible that you are a Christian but its not very likely." Is Mr.Sproul correct in this assertion? I believe he is. The reason he gives for coming to this conclusion is in the new testament, it can clearly be seen that when God's saving work comes to an individual, that person does not remain isolated from God's people. The Church is referred to as 'The Body Of Christ' in the New Testament. The author asks the question ‘How in the world can a person love Christ and hate His body?’ We are still individuals if we are believers, but we are part of Christ's body. Just as we need all the parts of our physical body (to function at a normal and efficient level) so every member of Christ's body is needed for the health of 'His Church'…This is among the most important books of The Crucial Questions Series because it so clearly deals with an issue which is a pervasive problem in our 'Its About Me Generation'.
