Before they leave the stage, interview with the men of God
Interviews with: Basil Howlett, Neville Rees, Alun McNabb, John Blanchard, Teify Ebenezer, Ian Hamilton, Geoff Thomas, Bill Hughes, Eryl Davies, Bruce Powell, Andrew Davies, Peter Milsom, Stuart Olyott, Maurice Roberts, Mike Mellor, Iain H. Murray, Philip Eveson and Austin Walker. Throughout the spring and into the summer of 2021 Christians from the UK and beyond were tuning in to a series of online interviews each Sunday evening called Before They Leave The Stage. The interviews featured retired pastors, and one evangelist, from England, Scotland and Wales, in their 70s, 80s and 90s. The interviews were transmitted through the YouTube Channel of the Heath Evangelical Church, Cardiff. Convinced that God was in this series, it was the desire of the interviewers that these testimonies be heard far and wide. The result is this book which it is hoped will extend the reach of their stories for God’s glory. Each interview covers background history, conversion, call to service, blessings and difficulties in the work, advice, and reflections on the need of the hour. Of the eighteen men interviewed, at the time of publication one has already left the stage’ and gone to glory.

‘I greatly enjoyed the YouTube series and bought this after chatting with the lady running Alfred Place Baptist Church bookshop. Wasn’t disappointed, and there was enough new material to make it a very welcome addition to the YouTube series. 18 men who have run the race well, and have much to share for the benefit of us who come behind them. They share their conversions, calls into ministry, joys and pains of service, and offer safe advice for all who desire to live for their Lord. A book of equal parts celebration, encouragement and challenge.’ Carl Peet
